The Galliera temperature scale keeps Celsius's familiar freezing-point reference at zero, then doubles the numerical value. Half a Celsius degree becomes one whole degree Galliera.

Why double Celsius?

Whole numbers where Celsius often uses halves.

The idea began with a small interface problem: thermostats often need 0.5 °C steps. Galliera represents those exact same steps with consecutive integers — without claiming any extra physical precision.

Hold the physical range constant and compare the numbering. Galliera gives twice the whole-degree intervals of Celsius and slightly more than Fahrenheit, while still keeping freezing at zero.

Important: this is a numbering and interface advantage, not extra sensor accuracy. A finer unit label does not make the underlying measurement more precise.
